Giraffes At The Zoo
We ambled out of the class room to the giraffe enclosure . The giraffe enclosure was located around the walkway. When we perched on the platform, a zoo keeper named Larry spoke to us about giraffes. Larry told us that giraffes fight for leadership and that they use their bumps on their foreheads to fight against other giraffes. Larry also gave us some very interesting information on giraffes' tongues. You would never imagine that a giraffe has a one metre stretched out tongue, though only 30cm of it shows. Did you know that giraffes have black and blue tongues? The colour protects them from getting sun burnt on their tongues. After Larry's amazing information, we got to feed the giraffes. That naughty 4 1/2 metre tall giraffe nearly used me as his dinner! I loved those giraffes. They were so cute and I would love to take one home.
